Caramel Sauce Recipe

My caramel sauce recipe is unlike any you've tried before. Made with brown sugar, it's rich, creamy, and never gritty!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Place the brown sugar, butter, and heavy whipping cream in a medium saucepan seet over medium heat.
  2. Stir often until it reaches a boil.
  3. Boil until the sauce begins to thicken, about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the vanilla, then remove from the heat. Transfer to a heat-proof container. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.

Notes

  • Storage: Store homemade caramel sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
