Caramelized Onion Dip

Ingredients
- 3 sweet onions
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 16 ounces sour cream
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Thinly slice the onions.
- Melt butter in a large heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add onions and stir until they wilt down significantly. Adjust the heat to medium-low and cook until the onions turn a deep golden brown and become very soft and jammy. This can take anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour. Be patient! Then stir in balsamic vinegar and remove from heat.
- Let onions cool a little while you mix the rest of the ingredients together. Add the onions and stir.
- Garnish with sliced green onions (optional) and serve with chips!
Notes
- Nutrition facts do not include chips.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
- You may have to let the dip sit out for a bit after being in the fridge to soften.
