Cheerios Snack Mix

Cheerios Snack Mix mixes Cheerios, peanuts, and raisins coated in a sweet glaze made from butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, baking soda, and vanilla, then baked and cooled before adding M&M's. The resulting mix is crunchy, sweet, and nutty, featuring a combination of textures and flavors suitable for snacking or parties.

Description

Cheerios Snack Mix begins with a blend of Cheerios cereal, peanuts, and raisins combined dry. A sauce is then prepared by boiling together butter, brown sugar, salt, and light corn syrup, then stirred with baking soda and vanilla for flavor and texture contrast. This syrup mixture is poured over the dry ingredients and mixed thoroughly to coat evenly.

The coated mix is spread on a lined pan and baked at a low temperature (250°F) for 15 minutes to set the glaze and create a crunchy texture. After cooling and breaking apart, M&M candies are folded in, adding color and chocolate flavor. This mix offers a balance of sweet, nutty, and fruity elements with a crunchy and chewy texture.

This snack mix works well as a casual treat for gatherings or an accessible sweet snack. It can be stored in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
