Cheese Ball

The Cheese Ball is a creamy blend of cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheddar enhanced with garlic and onion powders and black pepper. Chilled until firm, it's shaped into a ball and rolled in chopped pecans, providing a contrast of smooth and crunchy textures. This appetizer is ready to serve with crackers, offering a rich, tangy, and nutty bite.

Description

This Cheese Ball combines softened but slightly firm cream cheese with sour cream and shredded medium cheddar cheese. Seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, and coarse ground black pepper, the mixture is beaten until smooth. After chilling in the refrigerator to set, it is formed into a ball and coated in finely chopped pecans, adding texture and flavor.

The final product presents a balance of creamy, tangy dairy flavors and the crunchy, toasted pecans on the surface. The method requires minimal cooking, relying on chilling to develop the shape and meld the flavors.

Serving typically involves pairing with crackers or sliced bread for spreading, making it a suitable item for gatherings or snacks.
