Cheesy Baked Taco Dip

The ultimate cheesy baked taco dip is an easy appetizer made with layers of cream cheese, taco seasoned ground beef or turkey, beans, salsa & guacamole!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound ground turkey or beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning click link for homemade recipe
  • 16 ounce salsa in jar
  • 15 ounce black beans drained & rinsed, canned
  • 16 ounces cream cheese
  • 4 ounce diced green chilies canned
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese or pepper jack cheese (shredded, spicy
  • 1 cup guacamole click link for easy recipe
  • 2 tablespoons green onions diced
  • ½ cup tomato diced

Serve With

  • 10 ounce tortilla chips bag

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions, cook 3 minutes, add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the ground turkey and cook until no longer pink.
  4. Once the turkey is cooked through, drain any grease, then add the taco seasoning, salsa and black beans. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, combine the cream cheese and green chilies in a small bowl. Spread in the bottom of an oven-safe baking dish.
  6. Top with the ground turkey mixture and shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with the guacamole, green onions and tomatoes.
  9. Serve with tortilla chips for dipping.

Notes

  • Vegetarian Option: Substitute the ground turkey with soyrizo or meatless crumbles to make this recipe vegetarian.
  • Gluten Free Option: This recipe is gluten-free using the ingredients shown above. If using store-bought taco seasoning mix, always check the label to make sure it's gluten free
