Cheesy BBQ Beef & Biscuit Casserole

Cheesy BBQ Beef & Biscuit Casserole layers seasoned ground beef mixed with barbecue sauce and mustard on a base of slightly baked biscuit dough, then topped with sharp cheddar cheese. The dish is baked until the cheese melts and the biscuits have a light golden crust. This casserole combines savory, smoky, and tangy flavors with a tender dough base, making it a hearty, comforting meal.

Description

The Cheesy BBQ Beef & Biscuit Casserole starts with a greased casserole dish lined with flaky biscuit dough pressed into a thin base and briefly baked until just golden. Meanwhile, ground beef is browned, drained, and combined with barbecue sauce, yellow mustard, and a blend of spices including garlic salt, cumin, and chili powder, producing a sweet and savory filling with smoky undertones. This beef mixture is poured over the pre-baked biscuit layer. A generous topping of shredded sharp cheddar cheese finishes the casserole.

Baked again until the cheese bubbles and melts, the biscuit base remains tender with slightly crisp edges, providing a satisfying contrast to the hearty beef filling. The combination balances the richness of cheddar and beef with the bright tanginess of mustard and barbecue sauce. This casserole is suitable for casual dinners and shares well.
