Cheesy Chicken Casserole

Cheesy Chicken Casserole mixes cooked pasta shells with browned chicken breast, diced green peppers, garlic powder, and canned tomato products, all combined with Italian shredded cheese. The casserole is baked until the cheese melts and bubbles, creating a creamy, savory dish with tender chicken and soft pasta. It’s a comforting one-dish meal suitable for family dinners and can be prepared ahead before baking.

Description

The Cheesy Chicken Casserole recipe starts by boiling pasta shells until tender and draining them. Meanwhile, cubed chicken breast is browned in a skillet with garlic powder and diced green pepper, allowing the chicken to cook through and the pepper to soften.

The cooked pasta is combined with the chicken mixture, canned diced tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, and half the shredded Italian cheese. This mixture blends savory, tangy tomato flavors with melty cheese and proteins. The casserole is transferred to a baking dish, topped with remaining cheese, and baked at 375°F for about 15 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles, forming a golden crust on top.

The resulting casserole features tender chicken morsels, soft pasta shells, and a cheesy tomato sauce that binds the ingredients. This dish makes a hearty main course suitable for family meals, served warm. The recipe is straightforward, using common pantry ingredients with a simple bake finishing step.
