Cheesy Crockpot Hashbrown Casserole
Description
Cheesy Crockpot Hashbrown Casserole uses frozen hash browns mixed with condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and sharp cheddar cheese. Cooking it on low in a slow cooker for several hours yields a rich and creamy texture with melted cheese throughout. The slow cooker approach allows the casserole to develop flavor slowly without constant attention. A final addition of extra cheddar cheese melted on top enhances the cheesy taste and presentation.
The dish combines basic pantry ingredients into a warm, indulgent side that's great for gatherings or casual dinners. It pairs well with roast meats or can be part of a brunch spread. The slow cooker keeps the casserole hot and ready to serve without drying out.
Variations include increasing the hash browns and sour cream quantities, adding chopped onions, scallions, and cooked bacon to create a loaded version. This provides more texture and layers of flavor while maintaining the creamy base.
