Cheesy Pinto Beans

Cheesy Pinto Beans combines sautéed garlic and jalapeño with blended and whole pinto beans seasoned with smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, and hot sauce. The addition of melted cheddar cheese adds richness and a creamy texture. This bean dish offers a smoky, spicy, and cheesy flavor profile suitable for serving over rice or alongside other main dishes. It delivers comforting, flavorful beans with a smooth and thick consistency.

Description

This recipe for Cheesy Pinto Beans starts by gently sautéing minced garlic and diced jalapeño in cooking oil until fragrant. One can of pinto beans is puréed along with its liquid to create a smooth base, then combined with a second can of drained beans in the pot. The beans are seasoned with smoked paprika, ground cumin, black pepper, and hot sauce to add layered smoky and spicy notes. The mixture is heated through on medium heat while stirring occasionally to blend the flavors.

Finally, shredded cheddar cheese is folded into the warm beans, melting into a creamy, cheesy sauce that envelops the beans, creating a rich texture and mild tanginess from the cheese. This dish can be served as a side with rice or incorporated into various meals where seasoned beans add a hearty touch.
