Cheesy Shrimp Casserole

The Cheesy Shrimp Casserole combines cooked medium shrimp with a blend of long grain and wild rice, cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheddar cheese, and seasonings like Old Bay and onion powder. Baked until bubbling and golden, this casserole offers a creamy, cheesy seafood and rice dish with a blend of spices enhancing the shrimp's sweetness and a comforting baked texture.

Description

This casserole starts by separately cooking a mix of wild and long-grain rice and boiling shrimp briefly until just done. The shrimp's natural sweetness and firm texture complement the hearty rice blend. Cream of mushroom soup is combined with cheddar cheese and seasonings including Old Bay and onion powder to provide moisture, savory depth, and a cheesy flavor.

Mixing the shrimp, cooked rices, and the soup-cheese mixture thoroughly binds the ingredients. Baking the casserole at a moderate oven temperature melts the cheese and heats everything through, creating a bubbling top layer and a cohesive creamy interior with tender rice grains and plump shrimp throughout.

The Old Bay seasoning adds a classic seafood spice mix that adds warmth without overpowering the natural shrimp flavor, while salt balances the taste. The casserole is served hot from the oven, suitable as a main dish or alongside a green vegetable for a comforting meal.
