Cheesy Turkey Sliders
Description
Cheesy Turkey Sliders combine soft Hawaiian-style sweet rolls sliced but kept together, layered with mayonnaise, cranberry sauce, shredded turkey, and mozzarella cheese. The contrast between tangy cranberry, creamy mayo, and mellow turkey creates a flavorful bite.
After assembling, the sliders are brushed with a melted butter blend infused with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Poppy seeds sprinkled over the top add a slight crunch and visual appeal. Baking covered melts the cheese and warms the components, while a brief uncovered finish gives a golden-brown crust.
This recipe is suitable for casual gatherings or easy meals, offering a mix of savory and sweet flavors with a soft texture from the rolls and cheese. The layering allows the cranberry and mayonnaise to moisten the turkey and bread.
Ingredients
- 1 count sweet rolls sliced in half, Hawaiian style, package
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup cranberry sauce
- 12 turkey or shredded leftover turkey meat, deli sliced, white meat
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
Buttery Mixture:
- 1/2 cup butter melted, unsalted
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper or to taste
Garnish:
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a 9×9-inch pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray, set aside.
- Using a long serrated knife, slice the rolls in half. Do NOT pull the individual rolls apart.
- Place the bottom part in the prepared pan.
- Spread the mayo evenly on the bottom layer. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly.
- Sprinkle one cup of cheese evenly.
- Top with the turkey slices.
- Top with the remaining 1 cup of cheese. Distribute evenly.
- Add the top part of the rolls, press slightly, and set aside.
Buttery Mixture:
- Add the butter to a medium, microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for about 1 minute until melted.
- Add the garlic powder and whisk to combine.
- Drizzle the butter mixture evenly over the rolls. Use a pastry brush to spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle poppy seeds on top.
Bake:
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until cheese has melted.
- Uncover and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes until the top is slightly golden brown.
- Remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for 5-10 minutes. Slice them into individual sliders and serve immediately. They are best served warm with gravy for dipping.
