Cheesy Wild Rice Soup
Description
Cheesy Wild Rice Soup brings together boneless chicken breast, cream of celery soup, cream of potato soup, milk, and canned wild rice along with diced carrots and real bacon bits to create a creamy, textured soup. The ingredients are combined in a slow cooker and cooked on low heat for 8 to 10 hours, allowing the chicken to become tender enough to shred easily.
Once the chicken is shredded and returned to the slow cooker, the soup is stirred to merge the flavors. The mixture of condensed soups and milk creates a smooth, cheesy base, while the wild rice adds chewiness and earthiness. The inclusion of bacon bits introduces a subtle smoky note that complements the mildness of the soup well.
This soup serves as a hearty meal on its own or alongside a crusty bread. Its slow cooker preparation makes it convenient for busy days, requiring the cook to set it early and enjoy later. The dish is nourishing and filling, appealing to those who enjoy creamy, homestyle soups.
