Cheesy Zucchini and Squash Casserole
Description
This casserole layers medium-thick rings of zucchini and yellow squash in a baking dish, then covers them with a seasoned blend of heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and garlic parsley salt. Topped with mozzarella cheese, it bakes at 350°F until the vegetables soften and the cheese forms a golden, gooey crust.
The dish offers a rich creamy texture paired with the mild, slightly sweet flavor of the squash. The cheese adds saltiness and depth while the garlic parsley salt infuses gentle herbal notes. The casserole is warm and comforting, with a soft tender bite from the cooked vegetables.
It is best served hot from the oven as a vegetable side dish that complements a variety of main courses. The baking time creates a balanced texture between creamy sauce and cooked squash maintaining its shape without becoming mushy.
