Chex Mix

Chex Mix is a savory snack made from a combination of corn, rice, and wheat Chex cereals, mixed with peanuts and pretzels, all coated in a buttery blend seasoned with Worcestershire sauce and seasoned salt. It’s baked low and slow, which allows the flavors to meld and the mix to become crispy. This snack is ideal for casual gatherings or as a crunchy treat to enjoy anytime.

Description

Traditional Chex Mix brings together several types of Chex cereals—corn, rice, and wheat—combined evenly with peanuts and pretzels. The mix is tossed in a butter-based sauce seasoned with Worcestershire sauce and seasoned salt, which imparts a smoky, salty depth to the snack.

The Chex Mix is baked at a low temperature of 250 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour, stirred every 15 minutes to ensure even crisping and coating. Baking allows the cereal and nuts to absorb the savory flavors while developing a satisfying crunch without getting burnt or overly dry.

After baking and cooling, this snack mix can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks, although it tastes freshest within the first few days. It is also suitable for freezing up to three months, which helps preserve the texture and flavor for later enjoyment.
