Chick-Fil-A Biscuits Recipe
Description
The recipe combines all-purpose flour with baking soda, baking powder, and salt, then adds cold cubed butter to form a coarse mixture. Buttermilk and honey introduce moisture and mild sweetness. After mixing, the dough is kneaded lightly and rolled out to 1-inch thickness, then cut into rounds. Baking at 450°F yields golden, soft biscuits with a tender crumb.
Finishing the biscuits with melted butter contributes a glossy finish and richer taste. These biscuits can be enjoyed warm alone or used for sandwiches. The balance of leavening agents ensures a rise that is fluffy but maintains a satisfying structure.
Any leftover biscuits store well in airtight containers for up to two weeks, retaining freshness when reheated. The use of cold butter and minimal mixing is key to achieving the flaky texture characteristic of these biscuits.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 6 Tbsp butter cut into cubes, cold unsalted
- 1 cup buttermilk Cold
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp butter melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- In a large food processor, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- Then add in the cold cubed butter. Pulse until all the ingredients are combined.
- Then pour the mixture into a large bowl. Create a well in the center of the mixture and add in the buttermilk and honey. Stir together with a spatula until a dough is formed (do not over mix).
- Flour a working surface and knead the dough a few times on that surface. Then roll out the dough to a 1 inch thick rectangle. Then cut out the biscuits with a biscuit cutter or a flour round glass.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the biscuits on the sheet so that they are not touching.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush the melted butter on top and then they are ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftover biscuits in an airtight container to maintain freshness for 1-2 weeks.
- Use cold butter and avoid over-mixing to ensure flaky texture.
- Brush with melted butter immediately after baking for added flavor and softness.
