Chick Fil A Chicken Sandwich

The Chick Fil A Chicken Sandwich recipe features boneless, skinless chicken breasts marinated in a seasoned bouillon and salt mixture, then coated with a flour, cracker crumb, and spice batter before frying until golden and cooked through. The sandwich is assembled with buttered hamburger buns and dill pickles, recreating the signature flavor and texture of the popular sandwich. Marinating tenderizes the chicken, while the seasoned coating provides a crispy exterior.

Description

This recipe begins with marinating chicken breasts in water mixed with chicken bouillon, seasoned salt, and allowing them to sit refrigerated for 12 hours. The marinade both flavors and tenderizes the meat. After discarding the marinade, the chicken is dredged in a combination of all-purpose flour, finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and paprika, which creates a seasoned crust.

The breaded chicken rests briefly on a wire rack, then is fried in peanut or vegetable oil heated to 350°F for 7 to 8 minutes until browned and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F. Draining on a wire rack prevents sogginess. For assembling, hamburger buns are buttered and toasted, then the fried chicken is placed inside with dill pickles, delivering a balance of crunchy coating, juicy chicken, and tangy pickles reminiscent of the celebrated sandwich.

If chicken breasts are especially large, splitting them horizontally into thinner pieces helps them cook evenly and fit the sandwich better. This recipe recreates the characteristic texture and flavors through marinating, seasoned coating, and frying technique.
