Chick-fil-a Grilled Chicken Club
Description
The chicken breasts are marinated for at least 30 minutes in a blend of white vinegar, brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, and granulated sugar to tenderize and impart a mildly sweet and tangy flavor. Grilled over medium-high heat, the chicken develops char marks and cooks to an internal temperature of 165°F ensuring juiciness and safety. Resting the chicken after grilling helps retain moisture.
The sandwich is assembled by spreading dressing or condiments onto the toasted buns, layered with lettuce, tomato slices, the grilled chicken breast, a slice of Colby Jack cheese, and crispy bacon. The combination results in a satisfying balance of crunch, creaminess, and bold, savory ingredients that hold together well for a handheld meal.
Leftover grilled chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days and assembled as needed, making this recipe convenient for meal prep or quick lunches.
Ingredients
FOR THE CHICKEN:
- 2 chicken breasts filleted
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
FOR THE SANDWICHES:
- 4 lettuce
- 1 tomato sliced
- 4 Buns
- 8 pieces Bacon cooked
- 4 lices Colby jack cheese
- dressing or condiment of your choice
Instructions
- Whisk together the vinegar, brown sugar, salt, garlic powder and sugar. Marinade the chicken fillets in this mixture for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
- Preheat the grill over medium high heat (400 degrees F) and rub the grill grates with oil so that the chicken does not stick.
- Place the chicken directly on the grill grates and grill the chicken for 3-5 minutes on each side until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Move the chicken to a separate plate to rest for at least 5 minutes.
- Warm the buns by either microwaving them for 30 seconds or place the buns face down on the grill for a few seconds to brown them slightly.
- Then it’s time to assemble the sandwiches. Spread your dressing or condiment of choice on one side of the hamburger buns. Then top it with lettuce, tomatoes and then the grilled chicken fillets. Top the chicken with a slice of the cheese and then 2 bacon slices.
- Then sandwich is ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
