Chick Fil A Grilled Chicken Sandwich
Description
The Chick Fil A Grilled Chicken Sandwich starts by marinating filleted chicken breasts in a blend of pickle juice, milk, powdered sugar, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. This marinade tenderizes the chicken and imparts a gentle tang and subtle seasoning. After at least 30 minutes of marinating, the chicken is grilled on a well-oiled grill set to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking each side for 3 to 5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees ensures a safe, juicy result with grilled marks.
After resting the chicken to retain juices, the sandwich is assembled on multi-grain buns with fresh lettuce and tomato slices plus your favorite dressing. The combination creates a balanced sandwich with tangy, savory, and fresh vegetable elements. The multi-grain buns add texture and wholesome appeal.
This sandwich suits casual lunches or dinners and can be customized with toasted buns or other toppings. Using leftover grilled chicken is also an option. It keeps well refrigerated for several days in an airtight container.
Ingredients
- 2 chicken breast filleted
- 3/4 cup pickle juice
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 tsp powdered sugar
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 tomato sliced
- 4 multi-grain buns
- dressing of your choice
Instructions
- Whisk together the pickle juice, milk, powdered sugar, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Marinade the chicken fillets in this mixture for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
- Preheat the grill over medium high heat (400 degrees F) and rub the grill grates with oil so that the chicken does not stick.
- Place the chicken directly on the grill grates and grill the chicken for 3-5 minutes on each side until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Move the chicken to a separate plate to rest for at least 5 minutes.
- Then it's time to assemble the sandwiches. Spread your dressing of choice on one side of the hamburger buns. Then top it with lettuce, tomatoes and then the grilled chicken fillets. Then sandwich is ready to serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Marinate chicken for a minimum of 30 minutes to 4 hours for best flavor and tenderness.
- Use leftover pickle juice from your fridge jars to prepare the marinade efficiently.
- Optionally butter and toast the buns before assembling the sandwich to add crispness.
- Store leftover cooked chicken in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 5 days.
