Chick-fil-A Sauce
Description
Chick-fil-A Sauce is a creamy blend of honey, mustard varieties, barbecue sauce, lemon juice, and mayonnaise. The mixture is chilled to let flavors meld, resulting in a tangy and slightly sweet dressing with a rich, smooth consistency. The addition of Dijon mustard and lemon juice adds a mild sharpness that balances the sweetness from honey and barbecue sauce. Optional liquid smoke can be included to enhance smoky depth if your barbecue sauce lacks it.
This sauce is typically served as a dip for chicken nuggets, sandwiches, fries, or as a sandwich spread. Its creamy texture makes it easy to coat and adds a layer of flavor complexity to simple fried or grilled dishes.
Letting the sauce rest in the fridge for about 30 minutes before use helps the flavors integrate well. Adjust components according to taste preferences, especially the smoky element.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce , I use Sweet Baby Ray's
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow flavors to come together.
- If your sauce doesn’t have that hint of smoke (in case your bbq sauce is sweeter rather than smoky) use a splash of liquid smoke.
