Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta
Description
Chicken Bacon Ranch Pasta starts with cubed chicken breast seasoned with ranch seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then cooked until browned. Bacon is chopped and slow-cooked for texture before being drained, leaving flavorful drippings for cooking the chicken. The cooked chicken is combined with Alfredo sauce and further ranch seasoning to create a creamy sauce.
Cooked pasta, such as rotini or penne, is added to the sauce and mixed in along with shredded cheddar cheese, which melts into the creamy mixture. This pasta dish offers rich flavors from the cheese and bacon alongside the herbaceous notes of ranch seasoning, with a combination of textures from tender chicken and crisp bacon.
This meal suits a hearty lunch or dinner and can be adapted by using leftover or rotisserie chicken for convenience. The balance of creamy sauce and seasoned meats makes it a filling option.
Ingredients
Chicken
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon ranch seasoning mix
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 3 chicken breast cubed into bite sized pieces, or 2 cups leftover cooked/rotisserie chicken, boneless skinless
Pasta
- 8 Bacon chopped, strips
- 4 cups pasta i.e. rotini, penne, fusilli, uncooked
- 4 cups Alfredo sauce (store bought or homemade)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 3 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
- 2 tablespoon parsley chopped, fresh
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large frying pan or skillet on low heat. Chop the bacon into bite sized pieces and sauté until cooked through. Cooking bacon low and slow results in the perfect texture and crunch.
- Remove the bacon from the pan and drain on a paper towel linked plate. Leave approximately 2 tablespoon of bacon drippings in the pan (or just enough to coat the bottom of the pan, or remove all drippings and add 2 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil to the pan).
- In a medium sized bowl season the chicken with the ranch seasoning mix, salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix until evenly combined.
- Increase the temperature of the frying pan to medium and sauté the chicken until golden brown, about 5-8 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and add in the alfredo sauce and ranch seasoning mix. Mix until fully combined.
- In a large pot of boiling water, cook pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Drain.
- Gradually add in the cheese to the sauce. Stir continuously until fully melted. The sauce will start to thicken.
- Add in the pasta and stir to combine.
- Stir in the bacon and chopped parsley.
- Garnish with chopped parsley, shredded cheese and more bacon, if desired. Enjoy!
