Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, chili powder, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form a marinade.
- Add the thinly sliced chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- Preheat your grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken slices onto metal skewers or wooden skewers that have been soaked in water for about 30 minutes.
- Grill the chicken skewers for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until they are cooked through and have a nice char on the edges.
- While the chicken is grilling, warm the pita bread or flatbreads on the grill or in a dry frying pan.
- Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skewers.
- To assemble, place a warm pita bread on a plate. Top it with slices of grilled chicken, thinly sliced red onion, fresh lettuce, and tomatoes.
- Drizzle with natural yogurt or tahini sauce.
- Fold the pita bread over the filling to create a kebab wrap.
- Serve your delicious Chicken Doner Kebabs immediately.
Notes
- You can customise your kebabs with additional toppings like cucumbers, red cabbage, or your favourite hot sauce for an extra kick of flavour.
