Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 12 oz vegetables frozen
  • 2 cups cheese divided, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cans (10. 5 oz) cream of chicken soup canned
  • 4 cups hash browns frozen shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken, frozen vegetables, 1 cup shredded cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  3. Add cream of chicken and stir again.
  4. Add shredded hash browns and stir until everything is combined.
  5. Transfer mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese evenly over top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes. Remove aluminum foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Once removed from the oven, allow the casserole to stand for 5-10 minutes before serving. This step helps the casserole set for easier slicing.

Notes

  • Consistency Too Thick? If you want a looser consistency add some milk to thin the sauce.
  • Let It Rest. Allow the casserole to stand for 5-10 minutes before serving it.
  • Baking the Dish. Covering the dish with foil holds the heat and moisture in while the casserole is cooking. It helps cook the potatoes more quickly and keeps the casserole from drying out. Remove it towards the end to give it time to brown the cheese.
