Chicken Orzo Recipe
Description
This recipe starts by sautéing thinly sliced chicken breast alongside chopped onion, celery, and carrot in olive oil until the chicken loses its pink color. Garlic is added for aroma before pouring in chicken broth and uncooked orzo pasta. The mixture simmers gently to cook the pasta through without becoming mushy, about 15 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid sticking.
The result is a warm, soothing dish combining tender meat, softened but not mushy vegetables, and small pasta with a slightly firm bite. The inclusion of fresh parsley imparts a fresh herbal touch, and seasoning with salt and pepper enhances the dish’s balance.
Chicken Orzo works well as a simple, satisfying meal that can be prepared on a weeknight or for lunch. It requires minimal steps and comes together in one pot, simplifying cleanup.
