Chicken Penne Pasta

Chicken Penne Pasta combines tender pieces of cooked chicken with penne pasta coated in a creamy Parmesan sauce infused with garlic and basil. The sauce is thickened with a roux of butter and flour, then enriched with half and half and chicken broth, creating a rich and comforting pasta dish. The garlic and Parmesan add savory depth while the basil brings a hint of herbal freshness, making it a well-rounded, satisfying meal.

Description

Chicken Penne Pasta features cubed chicken breasts cooked in butter and garlic, then simmered with a sauce made from a flour roux, chicken broth, and half and half. This method leads to a creamy, smooth sauce that binds the penne pasta and chicken. The addition of grated Parmesan cheese adds a nutty and salty note, while basil lends an aromatic herbal touch. Garlic salt and black pepper are used to season the sauce to taste. The dish finishes by combining the sauce with the cooked penne, resulting in a comforting pasta ready to serve immediately.

The texture is creamy from the sauce while the chicken remains tender. The flavors balance savory garlic, fresh basil, and the umami of Parmesan cheese. This dish works well as a hearty lunch or dinner option and can be paired simply with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
