Chicken Tater Tot Casserole Recipe
Description
The recipe begins with cubed chicken breast seasoned and cooked in olive oil and butter until no longer pink. A creamy mixture of condensed cream of chicken soup, milk, thawed mixed vegetables, and shredded cheddar cheese is stirred in and heated through. This mixture provides a smooth, savory base with tender chicken and vegetables.
After transferring to an oven-safe skillet or dish, the casserole is topped with a layer of frozen tater tots and the remaining cheese. Baking at 400°F crisps the tots to a golden brown, adding a crunchy texture that contrasts with the creamy casserole underneath.
This casserole works well as a filling main course and can be served as a complete meal due to the combination of protein, vegetables, and starch. It reheats well and can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days or frozen for extended storage.
It is recommended to store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to three months to maintain quality.
