Chicken Tot Pie

Chicken Tot Pie layers cooked chicken, mixed vegetables, and cheese in a creamy sauce topped with rows of frozen tater tots. The casserole bakes until the tots turn golden and crispy, creating a comforting dish that combines creamy filling and a crunchy potato topping. Seasoned with thyme, salt, and pepper, it makes a hearty main course suitable for family dinners.

Description

Chicken Tot Pie mixes cooked chicken breast with frozen vegetables in a creamy base of sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and milk, flavored with thyme and seasoning. The mixture forms the filling and is spread in a baking dish. It is topped neatly with frozen tater tots, which bake to a crisp golden finish introducing a contrasting texture to the creamy, savory filling beneath.

This dish offers a balance of creamy, cheesy, and savory flavors paired with the crispiness of the tater tot topping. It can stand alone as a substantial meal, suitable for weeknight dinners or family gatherings. The layering makes it convenient to prepare ahead and bake when needed.

Adjust seasoning to preference, and ensure the tater tots are arranged evenly to cook uniformly. Preheating the oven and spraying the dish with baking spray prevents sticking. The recipe's quantity is adaptable by changing the number of servings, with ingredient amounts updating accordingly.
