Chili's Chicken Crispers
Description
This recipe for Chili's Chicken Crispers uses thin chicken tenderloins dipped first in a wet batter made from beaten egg, milk, chicken broth, salt, pepper, and self-rising flour, then dredged in regular flour before frying. Heating canola oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit allows for even frying that crisps the coating quickly while cooking the chicken fully in about 8 to 10 minutes. The batter’s seasoning with salt and pepper enhances the mild chicken flavor, while the flour coating gives a crispy texture. These chicken strips can be served as a main dish with dipping sauces or alongside sides like fries or a salad for a fuller meal. Careful temperature control and small batches prevent oil temperature drops and ensure consistent texture.
