Chinese Coleslaw
Description
The Chinese Coleslaw recipe features a base of coleslaw mix tossed together with shelled sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, chopped green onion, and crushed dry ramen noodles, which add unexpected crunch. The dressing is a blend of vegetable oil, granulated sugar, white vinegar, and the seasoning packets that come with ramen noodles, lending a combination of tanginess, sweetness, and umami. After mixing the dressing thoroughly, it is poured over the slaw mixture and tossed to distribute evenly. Refrigeration after tossing helps the flavors meld and maintains the refreshing, crisp texture. The salad delivers a balance of crunchy textures and a lightly sweet, vinegar-based dressing with a subtle savory depth from the ramen seasoning. This coleslaw is suitable as a side dish or light salad with various meals needing a crisp, flavorful accompaniment.
