Chipotle Shrimp

Chipotle Shrimp cooked in clarified butter infused with minced chipotle peppers, lime juice, and zest results in a smoky, tangy seafood dish. Quick skillet cooking preserves the shrimp's natural texture while the chipotle-lime butter coats each piece with rich, zesty flavor, ideal for a flavorful main or appetizer.

Description

This recipe features large shrimp cooked shell-on in clarified butter seasoned with minced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, fresh lime juice, and lime zest. The clarified butter is infused with the citrus and smoky heat before cooking the shrimp in a hot skillet. The shrimp are cooked 2-3 minutes per side until pink and tender, then finished by adding the remaining chipotle-lime butter to coat and warm thoroughly.

The preparation yields shrimp with a tender texture and bold flavor combining smoky heat from chipotle peppers and bright acidity from lime. Cooking the shrimp shell-on adds moisture and flavor during the quick sauté. Finishing under the broiler is not done here, instead the dish is served hot with lime wedges for extra zest.

This Chipotle Shrimp works well as a spicy seafood main or a shared appetizer. The lime garnish adds freshness to the rich, buttery base.
