Chocolate Banana Ice Cream
Description
This Chocolate Banana Ice Cream recipe features ripe bananas chopped and frozen, combined with unsweetened almond milk, almond butter, and cacao powder. The ingredients are processed together until smooth and creamy, resulting in a frozen dessert that mimics ice cream without dairy. Optional cacao nibs or chocolate chips add texture and bursts of chocolate flavor.
The bananas provide natural sweetness and creaminess, while the almond butter contributes richness and a subtle nutty taste. The cacao powder gives a deep chocolate flavor without added sugar. The ice cream can be enjoyed immediately as a soft-serve or chilled further in the freezer for a firmer scoopable consistency.
This no-churn recipe uses simple whole-food ingredients for a satisfying chocolate-banana flavor. Serving in small bowls makes for a quick and refreshing snack or dessert. The recipe is straightforward and flexible with optional mix-ins.
Ingredients
- 3 banana chopped into chunks, frozen
- ¼ cup almond milk unsweetened chocolate or vanilla
- 1 Tablespoon almond butter
- ½ - 1 Tablespoon cacao powder or cocoa powder
- ½ Tablespoons cacao nib optional, or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Place bananas, almond milk, almond butter and cocoa powder into a food processor or high speed blender.
- Pulse/process until smooth and creamy. You may need to turn off the motor and stir the mixture a couple times while processing.
- Add in cacao nibs or chocolate chips (if using) and pulse once more. Spoon ice cream in to a bowl and enjoy! If you want to be able to scoop the ice cream you can place it in the freezer for 2 hours so it's solid enough to scoop.
