Chocolate Bread Recipe

This Chocolate Bread Recipe yields a dense, rich loaf with cocoa powder and chocolate chips folded throughout the dough. It balances the sweetness from sugar with the deep flavors from Dutch-process cocoa and both semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. The texture is moist and tender, baked in loaf pans for even cooking and topped with extra chocolate chips for added texture on the crust.

Description

The recipe mixes dry ingredients including all-purpose flour, Dutch-process cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt, then folds in wet ingredients comprised of milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla. The batter is carefully combined to avoid overmixing, ensuring the bread remains tender. Baking in loaf pans creates firm edges and a moist crumb inside. Additional chocolate chips sprinkled on top provide a pleasing texture contrast when baked.

This bread works well as a sweet breakfast option, snack, or dessert. It can be sliced and enjoyed plain or toasted with butter. The inclusion of two types of chocolate chips enhances bursts of chocolate flavor within each slice.

The recipe advises to check doneness with a toothpick test after 50 to 60 minutes in a 350°F oven. Proper greasing of loaf pans prevents sticking and helps maintain the bread's shape.
