Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
Description
This banana bread begins with mashed ripe bananas mixed with brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract to form a smooth, flavorful wet base. All-purpose flour and baking soda are gently folded in to keep the bread tender without overmixing. Chocolate chips are folded last to distribute through the batter evenly.
Baked in a loaf pan at 350°F, the bread develops a golden crust with a soft, moist center where the bananas provide natural sweetness and moisture, while the chocolate chips add richness and a slight melty bite. Cooling before slicing ensures clean cuts and improved texture.
The bread stores well in the refrigerator for several days, and using very ripe bananas enhances sweetness and banana flavor. Variations include using different types of chocolate chips or substituting some butter for applesauce to reduce fat.

- For a lower-calorie option, substitute half the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
