Chocolate Chip Croissant Casserole

Chocolate Chip Croissant Casserole is a baked breakfast or dessert casserole that combines torn croissant pieces with a custardy mixture of cream cheese, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla along with semi-sweet chocolate chips. The dish is soaked briefly before baking to absorb the custard, then covered and baked to a soft, creamy texture with melted chocolate pockets throughout. It's an indulgent, rich dish with a tender bite and sweet chocolate accents.

Description

This casserole assembles cubed croissants tossed with a creamy blend of softened cream cheese, sugar, whole milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, along with semi-sweet chocolate chips dispersed throughout. After mixing, the mixture is poured into a greased baking dish and allowed to rest for five minutes, helping the croissants soak up the custard base. It is then baked covered for 30 minutes to cook through gently, followed by an uncovered bake to brown and set the top.

The finished casserole offers soft, custardy bread with pockets of melted chocolate and rich cream cheese flavor, balancing sweetness and creaminess. The layering of croissant texture with the chocolate chips' burst provides a varied bite. This dish suits brunch, dessert, or special occasions where a sweet, comforting baked treat is desired.
