Chocolate Covered Potato Chips
Description
This recipe melts chocolate chips gently over simmering water, ensuring smooth and lump-free chocolate for dipping. Each potato chip is dipped about halfway into the chocolate and allowed to cool completely on wax paper so the coating hardens. The ridge-cut shape of the chips creates extra texture and areas for chocolate to cling, enhancing each bite.
Once set, the chocolate encases a portion of the chip, leaving the exposed part crisp and salty, which balances the sweetness of the chocolate. The combination works as a casual snack or a simple, playful dessert with contrasting flavors and textures.
The chips can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, maintaining crispness and chocolate quality. Different types of chocolate can be used depending on personal taste preferences.
