Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix Cookies

These Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix Cookies combine boxed cake mix with simple wet ingredients and chocolate chips to create soft, chewy cookies with a rich chocolate fudge flavor. Rolling the dough balls in sugar before baking adds a subtle crunch on the outside. Their texture balances the softness of cake mix with the density of chocolate chips, making them an easy homemade treat that doesn't require separate cake or cookie ingredients.

Description

The Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix Cookies use a single box of chocolate fudge cake mix combined with oil, vanilla, eggs, and chocolate chips to form a rich dough. The batter chills in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, which firms it up for shaping. Rolled into even-sized balls and coated in granulated sugar, the cookies are baked at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Cooling briefly on the pan lets them set before transferring to a rack.

The resulting cookies offer concentrated chocolate fudge flavor balanced with soft chewiness from the cake mix base, accented by chocolate chips throughout. The sugar coating introduces a light crust and sweetness contrast to the moist interior. This approach simplifies making chocolate cookies by relying on cake mix rather than scratch ingredients.

Enjoy these cookies warm or at room temperature as quick treats or snacks. The method is particularly handy to use up any leftover cake mix and provides a straightforward way to bake chocolate cookies with minimal preparation steps.
