Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies
Description
The Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies recipe uses natural creamy peanut butter as a base combined with maple syrup as a sweetener. Unsweetened cocoa powder adds a chocolate depth balanced by a small amount of baking soda and salt for structure and flavor. Eggs and vanilla extract bind the dough and add richness. Chocolate chips or peanut butter chips are folded in to provide additional smooth pockets of melted chocolate or peanut butter.
Dropped by spoonfuls onto a prepared baking sheet and gently pressed down, the dough bakes at 350°F until the edges are set, forming chewy, tender cookies with a slightly dense texture from the peanut butter. Allowing the cookies to cool completely helps them hold their shape when handled.
Cookies keep well at room temperature for a few days, longer refrigerated, and can be frozen for months to maintain freshness and convenience. These cookies offer a homemade treat that pairs chocolate and peanut butter in a straightforward way.
