Christmas Tree Charcuterie Board
Description
This charcuterie board combines sharp and creamy cheeses with savory meats like salami and pepperoni, punctuated by fresh blackberries, strawberries, and olives for contrasting colors and flavors. Pretzel sticks provide structure and a crunchy texture reminiscent of a tree trunk. The layered arrangement, narrowing toward the top, forms a recognizable Christmas tree shape, accented with cheese star cutouts and rosemary sprigs to simulate decorations and foliage.
The interplay of flavors includes the saltiness of cured meats with the mild sweetness of berries and the tang from olives, balancing richness and freshness. This technique allows for creativity in choosing different cheeses or charcuterie while maintaining the holiday theme.
Serving this board immediately helps preserve freshness and the appealing textures of the components. The festive layout is suitable as a centerpiece or shared appetizer during holiday events.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cheddar cheese cubed, sharp
- 6 oz Colby jack cheese cubed
- 6 oz havarti cheese Cubed
- 4 lices provolone cheese
- 4 oz Peppered Salami
- 4 oz pepperoni large slices
- 6 oz blackberry
- 6 oz strawberries diced
- 12 oz green olives drained
- 10-12 pretzel sticks
- 4 rosemary sprigs
Instructions
- Use a small star cookie cutter to cut stars out of the sliced provolone cheese.
- Then prep the salami and large pepperoni by folding them in half and then folding them in half again.
- Get a large serving board. Place the pretzel sticks at the bottom of the board to look like a tree trunk.
- Next, start the tree with a row of the diced cheese (we started with the cheddar cheese). The continue up the tree layering blackberries, pepperoni, and another flavor of tree, making sure every layer is lightly less wider as you go up.
- Then continue up the tree layering the final four ingredients, green olives, salami, a third cheese, and strawberries.
- Then garnish the board with the cheese shaped stars (we put one on top of the tree to look like a tree topper) and the rosemary sprigs.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to customize the board with your preferred meats, cheeses, fruits, or vegetables to suit taste or dietary needs.
- Using Christmas colors in the selection helps keep the presentation festive and thematic.
