Cider Wassail Recipe
Description
This Cider Wassail recipe combines a gallon of apple cider with orange juice and hibiscus tea bags, adding a blend of warming spices including cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, juniper berries, and fresh sliced ginger. Along with slices of apple and orange, the ingredients are simmered slowly in a slow cooker until the fruit softens and the color deepens. The hibiscus adds a mild tartness and vibrant hue, while the spices deepen the aroma and flavor profile.
The drink is served hot, providing a comforting and fragrant beverage for colder seasons. The use of fresh fruit slices adds a natural sweetness and visual appeal. Removing the tea bags before serving prevents bitterness, ensuring a smooth finish. It's a festive alternative to traditional mulled cider with unique floral and spice notes.
