Cilantro Lime Crema

Cilantro Lime Crema blends sour cream, mayonnaise, fresh cilantro, lime zest and juice, garlic, and salt into a smooth sauce. It offers a bright, tangy, and herbaceous flavor ideal for topping tacos, grilled meats, or vegetables. The crema’s creamy texture complements spicy dishes by adding cooling zest and freshness.

Description

This Cilantro Lime Crema combines sour cream and mayonnaise into a velvety base enhanced with the brightness of fresh cilantro and zesty lime. Garlic and kosher salt add depth and balance. Pureeing the ingredients results in a smooth sauce ready to complement a variety of dishes.

The lime zest and juice create vibrant citrus notes, while the cilantro lends a fresh, herbaceous flavor. The mayonnaise adds richness that balances the tang of sour cream. Blending ensures an even texture that coats well.

Serve this sauce with Mexican dishes such as tacos or grilled chicken, or use it as a creamy dip or salad dressing. Refrigerating the crema for several hours or overnight allows the flavors to meld and intensify. It thickens in the fridge but can be loosened with additional lime juice or water to desired consistency.
