Cilantro Lime Shrimp

Cilantro Lime Shrimp is a quick sautéed dish featuring peeled jumbo shrimp cooked with garlic, cilantro, and lime juice. Seasoned simply with salt and cayenne pepper, the shrimp are cooked until slightly charred and aromatic, then finished with fresh lime juice to brighten the flavors. Butter and olive oil add richness and smoothness, while the fresh cilantro imparts herbal notes. The result is a lively, tender shrimp dish served best immediately with fresh lime wedges.

Description

This recipe emphasizes fresh, peeled, and deveined jumbo shrimp seasoned with salt and a touch of cayenne pepper for mild heat. The shrimp cook in olive oil infused with minced garlic until partially done, then cilantro and unsalted butter are added to meld flavors and coat the shrimp with a glossy finish. The final addition of lime juice quickly evaporates, leaving a bright citrus note that balances the richness of butter and oil.

The cooking method ensures the shrimp develop a slightly charred surface while remaining tender inside. The cilantro provides herby freshness that complements the acidity from lime, making the dish vibrant yet straightforward. Serving with fresh lime wedges encourages adjusting the citrus intensity at the table.

This dish is suited for quick meals and highlights the balance between rich sautéed shrimp and zesty lime. Cooking is best completed in one pan for efficiency and flavor concentration.
