Cinnamon Crescent Rolls

Cinnamon Crescent Rolls feature packaged crescent roll dough spread with a cinnamon-sugar butter mixture, rolled up and baked until golden brown. A glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla is drizzled over the warm rolls for added sweetness. The rolls are soft, flaky, and subtly spiced, suitable as a warm breakfast or dessert treat.

Description

This recipe transforms store-bought crescent roll dough by layering on a mixture of softened butter, sugar, and cinnamon before rolling it up to create spiral-flavored rolls. Baking at 375 degrees F produces a flaky exterior with a soft interior. After baking, the rolls are topped with a smooth glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, which melts slightly into the rolls adding sweetness and moisture. The rolls are best enjoyed fresh and warm, directly out of the oven. Leftovers keep well at room temperature in an airtight container and can be quickly reheated in the microwave to refresh the texture.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 count crescent rolls
  • 4 Tbsp butter softened
  • 1/4 c. white sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Unroll the crescent rolls and place on a greased rimmed cookie sheet.
  3. In small bowl mix butter, sugar and cinnamon. Spread mixture over Crescent rolls and roll them up. Place tip side down on cookie sheet.
  4. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees F 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven.
  5. While crescent rolls are baking prepare the glaze. In a small mixing bowl mix milk, powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over Crescent rolls when you pull them out of the oven. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Store leftover cinnamon crescent rolls in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain softness.
  • Warm rolls briefly in the microwave before serving to restore their fresh-baked softness.
  • They are best eaten fresh but still enjoyable after storage and reheating.
