Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole features quartered cinnamon roll dough soaked in an egg, milk, and maple syrup mixture, topped with a cinnamon spiced streusel. Baking until golden yields a fluffy and sweet baked breakfast casserole. The reserved cinnamon roll frosting drizzled on top adds creamy sweetness and completes the rich texture. It's a comforting dish suitable for weekends or holiday mornings.

Description

This Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole starts by cutting ready-to-bake cinnamon rolls into pieces and soaking them in a mixture of eggs, milk, and maple syrup. The batter soaks into the dough, making it tender and custardy once baked. A streusel topping made from flour, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon adds a slightly crunchy texture contrasting the soft interior.

After baking at moderate heat, the casserole develops a golden color on top while the inside remains moist and sweet. Drizzling the reserved cinnamon roll frosting over the warm casserole finishes the dish with a creamy, sweet glaze. The combination of cinnamon and buttery streusel with fluffy cinnamon roll pieces creates a rich layered flavor.

The casserole can be assembled the night before by pouring the egg mixture over the dough and refrigerating. The streusel is added just before baking in the morning. This makes it a convenient make-ahead breakfast or brunch option. It is suitable for feeding a crowd or for a special occasion morning meal.
