Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 package/tube biscuit dough 8-pack, refrigerated
  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • maple syrup optional, for serving, optional

Candied Pecans Topping

  • ½ cup pecans
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine the 1/3 cup sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon in wide shallow bowl and stir well. Set aside.
  2. Grease a waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray (or butter). Place biscuit in the center of the iron, close and cook until biscuit is puffed and browned.
  3. Brush waffle with butter on both sides making sure to cover as much surface area as possible.
  4. Dip waffle in cinnamon-sugar mixture, moving the waffle around as needed to coat the whole surface with cinnamon-sugar. Serve with syrup and candied pecan topping if desired.

Candied Pecan Topping

  1. Combine pecans and sugar in a small-medium pan and stir over medium-high heat 2-4 minutes until sugar is melted. Reduce heat to low and immediately sprinkle cinnamon over the nuts and sugar. Continue to stir until pecans are coated in the melted sugar. Transfer to a plate or baking pan to cool until ready to use.
