Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Chips
Description
This recipe starts with cutting flour tortillas into wedges, which are then sprayed with cooking oil to ensure crispness. The wedges are sprinkled generously with cinnamon and sugar both before and after the oil spray, helping the mixture stick well and infusing the chips with sweetness and spice. Baking at 350°F crisps the wedges uniformly, producing chips that harden further as they cool.
The finished chips have a balanced sweetness with the distinct spicy warmth of cinnamon. Their texture is crisp and light, ideal for dipping or snacking. The recipe mentions serving suggestions including a fresh fruit salsa that complements the cinnamon notes.
The chips keep well for several days in an airtight container at room temperature, maintaining their crispness. This makes them convenient to prepare ahead and enjoy over time. Baking in batches allows for fresh chips when needed.
Ingredients
- 10 flour tortillas 10-inch
- 1 cup sugar granulated
- 2 tsp cinnamon more if desired
- cooking spray canola
