Clam Dip

Clam Dip is a creamy savory spread combining cream cheese, sour cream, minced garlic, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, and a touch of hot sauce blended with minced clams. The mixture is chilled to allow flavors to meld before serving. The dip has a smooth texture with a rich clam flavor, balanced by the tanginess of sour cream and a mild garlic presence.

Description

This Clam Dip recipe blends softened cream cheese with sour cream, minced garlic, parsley flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco or other hot sauce to create a creamy, mildly spicy base. Minced clams are folded in, contributing a briny, oceanic flavor that permeates the dip. The reserved clam juice thins the consistency to the desired level, making it spreadable and easy to serve.

After mixing, chilling the dip for 1 to 2 hours allows the flavors to harmonize and strengthens the clam presence. The dip can be served chilled with potato chips, crackers, or raw vegetables as a snack or appetizer.

Optional add-ins such as yellow mustard, lemon juice, paprika, chives, or green onion can adjust flavor profiles. It can also be baked at 350°F for 20-25 minutes if a warm version is preferred. The dip keeps refrigerated for 3 to 5 days when stored properly.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 oz cream cheese , softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley flakes (or 1 teaspoon fresh chopped parsley)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Dash Tabasco sauce or favorite hot sauce

  3. Serve with potato chips or crackers.
  4. Clams Dip will last stored covered in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.

Notes

  • Chill the dip for at least 1 hour to let flavors blend well before serving.
  • Additional flavorings like yellow mustard, lemon juice, paprika, chives, or green onion can be mixed in to customize taste.
  • For a warm version, bake the dip at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until heated through.
  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for 3-5 days to maintain freshness.
