Ingredients

  • 1 white bread cut in 1/2 inch cubes (around 9 cups bread cubes, or sourdough bread
  • 3/4 cup butter salted
  • 3 celery chopped, stalks
  • 1 onion chopped, small, yellow or white
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme dried
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 to 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat melt butter. Add chopped celery and onion to butter and cook until tender.
  3. Stir in salt, sage, thyme, poultry seasoning and pepper. Stir to combine. Remove skillet from heat.
  4. Place bread cubes in a large bowl. Pour the butter/vegetable mixture over bread. Toss to coat. Pour in enough chicken broth until bread is moistened.
  5. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray. Pour stuffing mixture evenly into pan. Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes.
