Classic Jalapeno Poppers Recipe

Classic Jalapeno Poppers consist of halved jalapeño peppers stuffed with a seasoned blend of cream cheese, cheddar cheese and optionally bacon, topped with a spiced buttery panko crust, then baked until golden and bubbly. The result is a spicy, creamy, crunchy appetizer that delivers a mix of smoky, tangy, and spicy flavors. The crispy breadcrumb topping adds texture to the soft, cheesy pepper filling.

Description

This Classic Jalapeno Poppers Recipe starts with fresh jalapeño peppers sliced lengthwise and cored to hold the stuffing. The filling combines softened cream cheese with shredded cheddar cheese, optional crumbled bacon, and spices such as paprika and garlic powder for depth of flavor. Each pepper half is filled generously and topped with extra cheddar.

A topping made from melted butter mixed with panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, and salt is spooned over the stuffed peppers. Baking at 375°F crisps the breadcrumb topping to a golden brown while melting the cheeses inside, creating a creamy interior with a crunchy topping.

Garnishes such as fresh cilantro, parsley, chili flakes, or extra bacon add fresh herbal or spicy notes if desired. These jalapeño poppers make a spicy, savory snack or appetizer with a balanced combination of textures.
