Classic Pot Roast
Description
The Classic Pot Roast combines a sizeable chuck roast with basic seasonings like kosher salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. After browning the meat in vegetable oil to create a rich crust, carrots, potatoes, minced garlic, and beef broth are added to the cooking vessel. The roast then slowly braises at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for three to three and a half hours, allowing the beef to become fork-tender while the vegetables become soft and flavorful. This slow cooking method develops a satisfying texture and a well-rounded, savory taste.
The rustic dish serves well as a main course, offering a balanced presentation of protein and vegetables in a single pot. The rich juices from the roast combined with the broth-infused vegetables make it suitable for a family dinner or a weekend meal where resting time is available.
