Coconut Macaroons

Coconut Macaroons are made by blending sweetened condensed milk, shredded coconut, vanilla, and almond extracts then baking dollops until lightly browned at the edges. This simple sweet treat offers chewy centers with a crisp exterior. Variations include using nuts instead of coconut or adding chocolate chips for a different texture and flavor.

Description

The recipe combines all ingredients thoroughly and forms small spoonfuls placed on a greased baking sheet. Baking at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes develops lightly browned edges while keeping the centers moist. The extracts add aromatic depth that complements the sweetness and coconut texture.

This basic macaroon recipe yields a chewy and tender texture with slight crispness on the outside. Adding nuts instead of coconut or substituting part of the coconut with mini chocolate chips creates different flavor profiles suitable for varying tastes.
