Coconut Milkshake with Chocolate
Description
The recipe combines vanilla bean ice cream and canned coconut milk in a blender, shaken prior to opening to distribute solids and liquids evenly. Adding shredded unsweetened coconut contributes a natural texture and deeper coconut taste. Rich chocolate sauce balances the blend with sweetness and cocoa flavor. The ingredients are blended briefly just to combine, preserving a creamy, slightly textured consistency from the coconut shreds.
Serving the milkshake immediately ensures the best texture and temperature, as the ice cream melts rapidly once blended. The milkshake provides a tropical twist on a classic vanilla chocolate shake by introducing coconut milk and shredded coconut.
A lighter variation is possible by substituting vanilla frozen yogurt for ice cream and using half a can of coconut milk combined with regular milk to reduce fat content while maintaining flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups vanilla bean ice cream
- 1 can coconut milk 15oz.
- 2/3 cup coconut unsweetened, shredded
- 4 tbsp chocolate sauce
Instructions
- Place vanilla bean ice cream in the blender jar.
- Shake the can of coconut milk for a few times, then open it and pour it into the blender jar.
- Add in unsweetened shredded coconut and chocolate sauce.
- Blend for eight to ten seconds until it's combined.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- To make a lighter milkshake, use vanilla frozen yogurt in place of ice cream and mix half a can of coconut milk with one cup of regular milk.
